M'y Samsung galaxy under Android 4.3 has one internal SD card named sdcard and one external SD card as emmc. In order to install data on the external SD, in advanced settings, thé item "Change sd card installation" gives thé error message :"Cannot change installation SD card. System appears to have only one SD card." What is thé name of external SD used by FormFactor navigator ?

Navigator still giving directions after exit
I have been searching and not finding anyone else complaining about this odd behaviour.
When I exit Navigator (while navigating) using the Exit button, which I always follow with swiping away from the running app list, Navigator often continues to tell me where to go.
It seems I had this problem quite a while back, and not for a while, but now it has happened several times, perhaps since the latest Android version.
I have tried starting Navigator again, exiting again, etc. But it still keeps giving me directions or, if not navigating, I hear the over speed limit sound. Sometimes days after I have been using the program when I never thought it was still running.
Am I missing something, or is this a bug?
Android 6.0.1 Navigator 2.0.33-master
My workaround is to go to the list of running apps and force stop. But not while driving...
Clearly, if it is navigating and tracking my speed, it is using resources and battery when I am unaware of it.

How to close Setup Utility?
I had moved the Setup Utility partly below the lower edge of the screen during map updates (> 2GB) because it took some time.
When update was finished, I had no possibilty to close the App except via Windows task manager. Why is it not possible to act with this app as with others via the task line at the top (where I have it set to or at the lower edge - standard position) of the screen? For other apps, there a multiple possibilities to handle - close via right click at the task line; mover over at the task line, then move to small screen window of the app and move the app-window via right click menu and so on.

Since installing the new version in March the navigation works but if I try to slide the map then it crashes.
I have removed the app & maps completely from the device and reinstalled them but it still happens.
Device is an ASUS fonepad with android 4.1.2. Any advice appreciated.

Navigator Manual
@tomas, @jacob
Hi, please make a sticky post in this forum containing links to the manuals.
The answers for a lot of questions can be found in the manuals: for windows 8/10, windows CE and Android.
Simply put the link to that page in this thread (or a new one) and make that a sticky post.
Please do not forget to add the links to the "map editor" and to "diggerQT".
It can even be handy for experienced users who can't exactly remember "something" from the app.

Backup favourites to SD Card for Android
Hi,
Is it possible to backup My places, My routes and/or Navigator settings to SD Card ? I think we can't backup the TomTom license. If I uninstall Navigator and reinstall it from Play Store, will I lose all the favourites previously created along with the TomTom license ?
My problem is that Play Store doesn't let me update Navigator from 1.0.35 to 1.0.48, I can only open or uninstall it, so I wanted to force it with uninstall / resinstall.
Best regards
Florian

Can not find my gpx-files
Hello,
I have installed the navigator on my LG G3 and recorded several tracks. If I go to "Tools - GPS recording" , the GPX files appear in the list. I can open the files and display in the map. When I look in the PC or in the file explorer, I cannot find any of these files even with search. What am I doing wrong?
I want to export / copy the files to a PC and then further process them.
Many thanks for the help.

ETA computation in urban areas with OSM data: what is the urban trigger?
Hi,
When I use MFN in Paris, the calculated ETA doesn't take the urban speed settings of my vehicle into account. It takes the non urban setting instead.
However, when I use MFN in Bangkok, these urban speed settings are taken into account and work perfectly.
I'm using OSM data, so I guess this is related to a specific tag of the area.
Would you tell me more about what triggers the urban/not urban ETA calculation?

Interface, permissions, Lane guidance, traffic signals, buildings
A more MODERN looking main menu would be better than the present bland black and white user interface . Also the road restrictions don't seem to work. I turned off ALL the road types and still my car was able to use the roadways. PLEASE FIX.
In some countries there are some roads that are restricted by law for use by authorized persons/vehicles only. I should be able to edit the car/road permissions so it can/can't pass on these roads.
Lane guidance is also another useful feature.
I also updated the Trinidad and Tobago map on OpenStreetMap last month and did no see any updates that I did in the latest map or software update .
Finally why are there NO traffic-lights on the Trinidad and Tobago map and my buildings also DO NOT appear elevated even with the option checked in the settings?
I'm using Android 4.2.1
Kindest Regards

Change of smartphone
Hello. I changed my smartphone (Android). How do I transfer my favorite locations? I tried to send me a place, via bluetooth as file.html, but the program, installed on my new smartphone, does not see the file, which is only seen from Maps. I tried using the tool "Save in", but the answer is: "Research impossible. No one valid location is available". I have many favorite places, and I really need to save them. How should I do? Thanks for your help ..

Screen resolution on WinCE / Size of buttons
Hi tomas,
i would really appreciate if we could change the size of the buttons and keyboard on wince devices. Many users of the german honda-board (Motorbike) are using the Blaupunkt Motopilot. The screen resolution is 480x320.
At the moment the buttons are really small and the keyboard is not easy to handle.
Do we have a chance ?

Head Up Display - Optional Purchase
I quite like the idea of having a Head Up Display but can see nothing on the forum about how this works and how good it is. I assume that a mirror image is shown on the phones display and this can then be placed such that the display is reflected on the windscreen. Has anyone purchased/tried this and if so can you provide an opinion. Would be nice to see a video of this feature as well.

New features suggestions
Hi, I already posted this on G+ community. But I didn't get any reactions. So I guess I'll try to post it here too.
I have some suggestion how could be Mapfactor
Navigator improved. First of all let me say that it is a great
navigation and I use it for many years. I have used the Windows version
on a UMPC and now I use the Android version.
I would like to see following features implemented:
1) Better system for avoiding roads. It should be possible to avoid highways (or other toll roads) per country. It is useful especially in Europe where you have to pay for vignettes in many countries. Sometimes you would only use it for a few kilometers. Another option should be to block a complete road. Currently I can (in OSM maps) block one segment. It would be nice if I could block a whole highway (D1 in Czechia, A12 in Austria, A1 or H2 in Solvenia etc.) Also the road blocking should not be general, but related to a planned trip.
2) Better system for handling way-points. Currently if I set a way-point and later start another trip, it suggests me to use the previous way-point(s). It would be better to ask me if I want to start a new trip or continue with the previous. If I choose a new navigation, the old destination, way-points and blocked roads should be automatically saved. Again way-points should be related to a planned route, not set globally.
These are the things that bother me most. Both features I mentioned are quite well implemented in iGo navigation, if you need some inspiration.
I have some more ideas which are only cosmetic or would be very difficult to implement. But it would be very nice to have them.
3) Introduce better announcements, which would better describe where to do the maneuver. Like turn left on next traffic lights, turn right on the second crossroad, turn right at the end of street, stay on the main road etc. Announcing only the distance is sometimes confusing. Also the case when the main road turns and minor road continues straight is not handled unambiguously.
4) Better map design. The colors are bright and well visible. But don't really fit together. Another nice improvement would be to use SRTM data to draw the terrain in 3D. Maybe even include 3D buildings like in this OSM renderer: http://osmbuildings.org/?lat=52.52111&lon=13.40988&zoom=16&rotation=0&tilt=30
5) Collect information from drivers regarding average speed on certain roads and backport them to OSM (or own database). Then use these information to calculate the fastest way. Also add penalty for crossroads with traffic light or where you have to yield.

Test of Windows 8.1 MapFactor Navigator
Hello,
you can test a new beta Windows 8.1 / Windows Phone 8.1 version of MapFactor Navigator here:
https://www.microsoft.com/store/apps/mapfactor-gps-navigation/9nblggh3666j (5 MB)
You can try it on a phone, tablet, or PC with Windows 8.1 or Windows 10. Menu screens were redesigned for larger displays. The user interface of the map is also slightly different from the Android or WinCE version. This version contains only free OSM maps (not TomTom maps) and uses the older software renderer (not the new GLES).
Please, let us know if you find any problems. We can also discuss the app redesign here :)

Dubious audio file in app directory
Hello,
I'm a huge fan of mapfactor, it's one of the best navigators on android.
Strangely I found a dubious audio file in the program directory (android/data/com.mapfactor.navigator/) or android music player app ->albums.
It's called test.mp3 and before I reinstalled the app it was called hack kitkat.mp3.
Maybe a virus on my phone is placing it there.
Can someone prove this?
