Vanilla forums support images/files attachment/resizing, etc. in Advanced Editor as of version 2.2. I can't see which version we are using here but that would be very useful from my point of view.
via several addons you can also upload & attach files/images. See here: https://vanillaforums.org/addon/browse/all/
Simply search for file or image or attachmant or upload.
