See below image. Both sides are modified colour schemes I created myself.
The "problem" is the magenta route colour (Navigation highlight), the bright green turn overlay and the bright red GPS arrow.
In day-mode these colours are fine. In night-mode they are too bright.
Please make all 3 colours user adjustable for day and night mode.
(And please note that colour is british english and not an error)
