There are at least three reasons to have a waypoint:
1. you want to stop there (for instance you want to lunch, there is a cheap petrol station),
2. you want to change a calculated route for some reason,
3. you like the landscape better.
There is a basic difference between the reasons.
One side is #1 and #2 or #3 are the other side. For #1 you want to be warned but may be
not for #2 or #3.
So besides of choosing to include a waypoint on the route, there must also be a choice between
#1 and #2 or #3. A solution could be a twoway radiobutton active when a waypoint is chosen
to select "stop" or "via", "stop" for #1, "via" for #2 or #3.
If you have chosen for an active waypoint and "stop" you get an announcement else not.
Now there is also a way to simply correct an error present (AFAIK) from the beginning of a choice
to revert a route in the "routing points" screen. When you have a waypoint on a highway the point
is NOT moved to the opposite lane(!). (Version 3.0.125) . That MUST be done for a "stop" selected
waypoint.
I personally like that when I deviate from the calculated route I must be warned in all cases but
everyone his choice.
Awaiting the responses, knibja.
