I just updated MFN on my phone, and the software renderer (which it appears to be using on my device) looks really bad. There doesn't seem to be any anti-aliasing. If I manually switch to the hardware renderer, it looks like it used to look, but is really slow for some reason (which I guess is why it chooses the software renderer on my phone).
Overall, I like the new look, but the map display isn't so good any more. Fortunately, I made a backup before updating.
