Configure display format of panel data

When I add “Time to destination” in the android version of Navigator it will always show the time including seconds. The display format is always: hh:mm:ss. But in PC Navigator it will not show the seconds if the route takes longer than one hour. The format is hh:mm. When the route takes less than one hour then seconds are shown, the format in this case is: mm:ss.
Could it be possible to make this display format configurable? Because personally I never want to see the seconds, because this makes the “Time to destination” hard to see on a small screen.

Exit program properly when not navigating with back button

Could there be an option for the program to properly shut down when I press the back button if I'm not navigating. I can understand why people would want it to continue running so they can do other things on their phone while navigating, but I don't see why the back button shouldn't operate like any other app when not in navigation mode. It would make it easier to turn off the app and people wouldn't accidentally leave it running as it drains the battery (not by much, but it still counts).

It's not a big deal but I feel this would be a helpful function

Setup utility as windows task

I would prefer a windows task for the setup utility at a given time rather than to have the utility constantly in the background.

Is there something to setup specifically or are there any useful options and or /switches? If not, I just set it up as an ordinary task in the control panel ...

Trying to move My Places to a new phone...

My old phone was an LG running Android 4.1.2 and I had lots of "My Places" on the SD card. I moved my SD card to my new LG running Android 5.1.1

I had used Android Assistant to move the entire MapFactor app to the SD card, then just popped it into my new phone. The "My Places" are there, but the maps can NOT be updated on the new phone.

So my question is really two fold.
First, I need to save "my Places" in a safe place, and move them to another copy of my OLD 4.1.2 phone.
The "My Places" are the most important files, I can always download the maps again... So what do I save and copy to safe place. The .GPX files? Or what and where are the waypoints I have saved in the "My Places?"

Second, do I just download all the OSM maps again on the 5.1.1 phone?

Test this region in West Germany: http://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=16/51.9968/8.6172

Coming from east, before the first slip road to A2, drive the B 66 west, then right (north) to L787 Nordring. You will get twice "turn left", and shortly before Ostring "keep straight". I could not find any reason in the OSM data. Do you?

Additionally, I cannot remember having seen the lane assistant, although lane data are given. What is the reason for this?

change position arrow in size and color

Hello

I can only write with Google translator.

I have Navigator 15 free on a Falk F6 3rd Ed. via SD card .I use the PNA as hiking Map when cycling.
Since the Navi is not very bright, I'd like to change position arrow in size and color.
In the "album.style" file I found no entry for it.
I have it at all access? Is there a way, if so, where?
2. Question I want to leave the trails (STREET_FOOTWAY) a zoom level deeper still draw in the "teleatlas.map" there for parameters, but I can only limit the scope of the drawing.
If a finer representation of not having a better overview?
Perhaps I can in this forum anyone help?

With best regards

Road types (Navigator 12 vs. OSM)

Hi!
Road types in NavigatorFREE seem to me quite strange and incompatible wit OSM highway tags.
Is there any chance for a change
(for example using Highway:International equivalence)? Correct definition of road types is important  for road restrictions and especially for correct estimate of arrival time...

Present odd state (according to my experience, I may be wrong):

Map mode (3D/2D)

Please directly integrate a switch between 3D mode and 2D mode in the Navigator map view. I so often wanted to quickly change between these two modes, however I then had the problem that the map would not follow the car's position in the middle of a screen when I switched the view from 3D mode. Hope you can integrate the 2D mode directly when pressing the gray button on the bottom right, before just the map gets shown (without follwing the GPS position).

Hello All!

I am trying to use the NL-8002U Receiver with MapFactor Free (14 so far). But i am running into a gps timout and get no data from the receiver
within mapfactor. The chipset is kinda new, is it supported by MapFactor? Any special settings needed regarding the NMEA Protocol?
Will MapFactor Free (15) the better choice?

Hope someone can help...

Alternative Routes

Please consider this enhancement. It will improve Mapfactor Navigator.
CoPilot has a nice nifty function in providing alternative routes automatically. As you can see from the screenshot it provides 3 alternative routes to choose from. I think is clever and very useful and Mapfactor should have something very similar

Route calculation - TomTom v OSM

$

Route calculations are different with TomTom maps and OSM maps.

Using exactly the same configurations, vehicle profile etc... , the route calculated with TomTom is quite logical. It draws the route between waypoints they expected and the same way as Google maps.

With OSM the route calculation is quite unexpected and annoying. It will reach the waypoint then do a U-turn to follow the route it considers to be the logical one.

I can appreciate TomTom maps are better but it gets quite expensive keeping them up to date.

Is there anyway to improve the route algorithm and make it more like Google's or CoPilot's algorithm and be the same whether TomTom or OSM maps are used.

Please see the screenshots attached.

Map Files Location in Android 4.3

I have installed Navigator on my Huawei Y530 and downloaded the free map files for Ontario/Canada.  So far I am very pleased with the app.

Two questions, tho:

 1. Where are the downloaded map files located? The folder storage/sdcard0/navigator contains one sub-folder, temp, which one
folder labelled 4.3 which is empty, and six small files with the extension .mpfctmp.  I cannot find a data file containing the .mca files.

2. Is there any way to download the .mca files to my external sdcard1 and have Navigator look for them there.

Nav Free Android app 1.6.20 keeps crashing, needs more graceful recovery

$

Nav 1.6.20 crashes for no apparent reason.  (Have sent logs.)  Route is set up with multiple waypoints.  When the app is restarted, all waypoints are checked, even ones that were cleared by reaching them.  One must then un-check all the ones that were already passed, otherwise the app will try to route again from the beginning of the entire route.  That can be a pain, especially since the checkbox area is small.  If slightly off target, the 'Select action' menu appears, which then has to be cleared and the checkbox tried again.  Try doing that for multiple waypoints while riding a bicycle...  also potentially dangerous while driving a car.

Best would be that the app doesn't crash.  Until that happens, I suggest that the error handling could be improved.  For instance, the route would be stored in non-volatile (NV) memory.  As each waypoint is cleared either by reaching it or by manual clearing, the updated information would be stored in NV memory.  Then if the app crashes, when it reboots the present route information with the waypoints checked/unchecked would appear.  That would eliminate the need to reset passed waypoints; one could resume navigation without having to make any changes.

It also would be nice if the target area for the checkboxes could be made larger.  On a Samsung Galaxy S4, the area is quite small and difficult to accurately hit when in motion (for example, on the above-mentioned bicycle).
